Pins Pantone Color Matching
Pins pantone color matching. This is an odd title for a blog post from a custom lapel pin company. But it does have application.
Rose quartz and serenity are considered the pantone colors of 2016. Yes there is such a thing.
You might ask what is the pantone color of the year? Pantone.com defines it as follows
“It is a symbolic color selection, a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude”
“As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent.
Put another way
“Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”
Yes color can convey all those feelings. This is why color is so important when you design a pin. This is why corporations spend millions of dollars to choose the right color that conveys the right message and the right feeling. Branding is important and most companies, organizations that have a logo, have a brand with specific color choices.
There are literally thousands of different colors and shades of colors to choose from. The Pantone system is a worldwide system to identify colors in a consistent way. Each color is assigned a number that allows any artist or anybody for that matter to know exactly what color it is.
In the lapel pin world we use the Pantone color system to ensure we match people’s brands.
When designing a pin it is important not to just say I need blue or green because to an artist trying to design something they think of the thousands of shades and may have a hard time picking the right one. But if you say I want PMS 365 or Pantone color 1786 then they know exactly what color you want and more importantly you get what you want.
We understand that most people have no idea what a pantone chart is and have no way of accessing one and just simply want us to help them choose the color – we are happy to do this. But we do offer a link that is conveniently located on our website to direct you to the Pantone Color System chart online so you can pick the exact color you want when you design a pin. In the long run it makes everyone happy. Pins pantone color matching.
