The die cast process provides the ability to have more intricate designs including cutout areas. If your design requires cutout areas to be the best pin possible, die cast is for you.
A die cast pin is unique because the shape is not an issue. It can be made with cutouts around the letters, holes in the middle of the pin, in an unusual pattern, or just about any other element you want to add.
They are made by creating a custom mold and then injecting molten Zinc alloy metal in it to create the intricate shapes and designs. When the metal cools, it hardens. The result is an amazingly durable and sturdy pin because Zinc alloys will not bend or break. Yet it is lighter than the steel or brass used in a die struck pin.
A die cast pin may be all gold, all silver or any other metallic color. But you’re not limited! You may choose hard or soft enamel paint from our full range of Pantone or PMS colors to add vibrancy to the finished product so it looks very similar to a die struck pin.
Your die cast pin gives you total flexibility in the design by allowing custom shapes with the added benefit of an unlimited number of cutouts – all at no extra charge.
If you can dream it, we can make it!
Customers use die cast pins when they want to display an elaborate design or logo and require cutouts. Or they may require an intricate or unusual shape to their pin.
Typically, a die cast pin is ordered when the size is larger than two inches.
Because making the mold is more intricate than the process for creating a die cut pin which is stamped metal, they are a bit more expensive. But even still, the price is as low as 96-cents each, depending on the size and quantity ordered.
We can work with your design or our talented designers can take your concept and turn it into artwork for you to approve or change.
And at PinProsPlus, there are no extra charges. Everything is included:
If you’re wondering whether a die cast pin is right for your needs, feel free to call one of our experienced representatives at (801) 544-1005. A real person will answer the call and be able to help you.
Right here at PinProsPlus. We’ve been making high quality die cast pins for almost as long as we have been in business.
Die cast pins are ideal when you have an intricate design that requires cutouts or a pin that isn’t perfectly round or square. Almost any shape can be made into a die cast pin.
Because the pin requires making a mold with a Zinc alloy metal injected into the mold, they cost a bit more than a die struck pin. But they are economical when the impact the pin has is considered.
Absolutely! Some customers just want a gold, silver or other metallic finish but we can add a full range of enamel colors to your die cast pin.
Not long at all! Once you approve the artwork, we ship your pin in just 10-12 business days.
It’s the cutouts that make a die cast pin unique. If your logo or design requires a cutout, this is perfect for you. If not, it is more economical to order a custom hard enamel pin or a custom soft enamel pin.
A die cast pin is made from a casting rather than the stamping process. A mold is formed, then a liquid metal is poured into the mold to form the die cast pin. Because this process is more expensive, if cut outs are not needed it is better to choose a custom hard enamel pin or a custom soft enamel pin. Once the die cast pin is finished few people will notice the difference between the different types of pins – except for the cutouts.
